Check out this link to the GPS data collected last weekend when I went up the north side of the Squamish Chief. I’d call this trail “Stairway to Heaven” perhaps and liken it to going up the Grouse Grind without the stairs. There are some ropes to help pull you up and a number of branches to get confused on but overall, BREATHTAKING!
Anyone want to do this hike on Tuesday August 11th with me? It’s a point-to-point so we’d need at least two cars (one at Shannon Falls for when we complete). The start is at Mile 1 of the Mamquam FSR. Please email me or comment on Facebook if you would like to come. It is VERY strenuous- be forewarned. Look at the course profile at the bottom of the link if you don’t believe me- it’s way steeper than going up The Chief the usual way. It took me 1 hour 37 minutes because I was “jogging”. I think it’s probably more like a 3 hour hike. I would like to leave no later than 4pm on Tuesday.
Hope you’ll join me!
Sue
