Throughout my treatment I have been very happy with all aspects of Shelley’s work.Ian Annett

Shelley was born and raised in New Zealand. Growing up on a farm, an appreciation for the outdoors was quickly founded. Always active in sport, art and learning in youth, she has taken these interests through to being a ‘grown-up’. Shelley decided at the tender age of four that she wanted to be a Physiotherapist, following in the footsteps of an Aunty she admired. She had a strong interest in Sciences, Art, Math and Physical education at High School, this further strengthened the decision to study Physiotherapy.

Shelley Graduated from Physiotherapy at Otago University, New Zealand in 2005. She spent the first 2 years of her Physiotherapy Career working in a Hospital in Rotorua, New Zealand. Here she developed her skills in Neurorehabiliation and Cardio-Respiratory Rehabiliation.  She also spent alot of time as the emergency Physiotherapy for the Intensive Care ward and working with Peadiatics and Orthopeadic Rehabiliation.  Shelley began her world travels in 2007.  She arrived in Squamish nearly 3 years ago and immediately felt she had found a place that she could pursue her current interests as well as new sports, to a high level.   Shelley likes an adventure and a challenge.

Shelley has been great! I already feel like we’ve made progress, and I’ve learned a lot about my body. Carrie Griffin

She is drawn to activities of adrenaline, as well as those with physical and mental challenges.  In her spare time Shelley can be found Mountain biking, running, playing golf, Climbing, artisitically creating, snow boarding or enjoying a variety of water sports.

Since arriving in Canada Shelley has worked in Occupational Rehabilitation and private practice.  She has been with the exceptional team at Reach Physiotherapy just shy of one year.  She enjoys meeting people from the community and helping them learn about their body and movement.  Often described as friendly and relaxed, she is also very driven and focused on learning more and excelling in her interests in life. She believes a healing environment requires light, listening and positive energy. Shelley has worked hard on developing her Physiotherapy box of skills, this year she spent 25 days in courses ranging from Acupuncture, Teach Pilates and a series that focused on correcting alignment and movement through a whole body approach. Shelley will continue her professional development and plans to work next on the Manual Therapy Levels through the Canadian Orthopaedic Division. She is excited to be part of the ‘Reach Physio Solutions’ team to help enable future and current clients towards achieving their goals.Request an appointment
