Starting June 28th, 2010, we are offering a whole new aspect to your physiotherapy experience…
FOLLOW-UP CLASSES!
Is your recent episode of pain and limited mobility OVER? Congratulations! Consider this “home maintenance classes”. These sessions consist of mat based mobility and stability exercises utilizing a foam roller, physio ball, bands and light weights to allow to have a safe and cost-effective environment to learn how to maintain the fitness levels necessary for long-term management of your conditions.
Come learn about self-management techniques in a group setting lead by a physiotherapist.
We have designed a set of classes JUST FOR YOU! Our Efficient Movement Classes are an hour long, once a week, to help you in four key areas:
RELEASE: Learn how to relax the tension in your own muscles using a variety of balls and rollers.
ALIGNMENT: Learn how the bones should “stack” on one and other “ideally”, when you sit, stand, lie on your side or work at your desk…with cues and imagery suggestions.
CONNECTING: Getting in touch with under-utilized muscles can be tricky, like your transversus abdominus, your multifidus or your longis colli (front neck muscles), just to name a few! Learn where they are and how they support your joints for the long haul.
MOVING: How to move, using principles of stability & mobility combined in just the right amounts to allow flow and ease. Sounds great, doesn’t it?
Classes are small and are different every week. They’ll opportunities to get one on one feedback on your technique but there will not be time for true physiotherapy assessments, so if you don’t know if this class is for you, it’s a good idea to come in an see someone first. This kind of group setting is not recommended if you are acute pain!
The only pre-requisite is that you have attended physiotherapy or massage therapy at least ONCE in the past year. The instructor, physiotherapist Shelley Cottle, will gather some information about your condition prior from your therapist to enable her to give you the best instruction possible. Drop in is $15 a session. You can pay for 4 classes up front for $12.50/class or 8 classes up front for $11/class. Classes will run all year except on Statutory Holidays. You do not have to attend every class, the class will be different every week, sometimes it will be a review other times it will be all new.

Cancellations can be made online as well. Please be sure to give 24 hours notice if you cannot make the class. As per our cancellation policy, if you cancel within 24 hours, and we cannot fill your spot, we reserve the right to charge you for the missed visit.
If the class is full, DROP INS may be accommodated but this is up to the instructors discretion. So come to the studio at the class time and ask to be considered. We can often be flexible!
