Sue Shalanski, Physiotherapist
Sue has been fascinated with human biology since high school. When a stint of shin splints and knee pain risked to put her marathon “career” on hold, she met her first physiotherapist and well, her future path was forever altered!
During her schooling, it became apparent that private practice was her strongest area of interest, along with a growing obsession with mountain biking. It seemed logical to try to combine these two when looking for her first job. In 1997, Cranbrook became home for a little over a year and triathlons, road biking and mountain biking became an avid pursuit in the “sunniest place in B.C.”!
Always up for a challenge, she decided to further her education and moved to the Wet Coast for a 6-12 month period. She chose Squamish, based mostly on its reputation for being a biker’s paradise. She was not disappointed and, obviously, hasn’t left yet (going on ten years this September!). She’s still adjusting to this “less-sunny place in B.C.” but she feels that the people and the work keep her energized and constantly stimulated.
Lately, in the spirit of continued growth, she has added to her interests in IMS acupuncture and treating complex pain problems the excitement of growing her practice. Sue aspires to creating a community of people inspired to take control of their wellness with the implementation of a 30 Day Exercise Challenge which starts September 1st, 2008. Keep checking this site for classes and workshops as well.

These days, Sue is thrilled to be serving the community of Squamish through Reach Physio Solutions, while trying hard to keep tire-side down on the amazing trails in the backyard with her trusty side kick Sammy-J (Golden retriever).
